IEc develops credible assessments of the benefits and costs of regulatory policy. By applying state-of-the-art methods, IEc's multi-disciplinary team of economists, human health experts, and ecologists evaluates the benefits and costs of complex policies. Previous assessment issues include:

  • Air pollution;
  • Solid waste management;
  • Border crossing requirements; and
  • Offshore oil and gas development.

IEc staff have presented their work in benefit-cost evaluation to several review bodies, including EPA's Science Advisory Board and OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
