  Value of Information

The various uncertainties affecting regulatory analysis are not necessarily equally important. Decision makers would ideally invest resources to reduce uncertainty in the inputs most likely to influence decision outcomes, so that the probability of a good outcome may be increased. IEc can apply value-of-information (VOI) analysis to identify the most promising areas for future research, using decision analysis techniques to model decisions and the influence of uncertain elements on those decisions.
