  Land Use Planning

Increasing concerns about the economic, environmental, and community costs of sprawling development demand well-informed land use planning. IEc provides insightful analysis of land use options to help government agencies choose successful growth management strategies and policies. IEc draws on a wide range of analytic tools to inform land use and growth management decisions, including regional economic impact analysis, fiscal impacts analysis, environmental impact analysis, social impact analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS) analysis. IEc's multidisciplinary staff have applied these tools in analyzing development alternatives for brownfields and urban infill sites, assessing growth management options for regional planners, and evaluating national policies and programs for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. IEc works closely with real estate and transportation specialists to incorporate market and transportation demand analyses into comprehensive studies of development options.
